August thus far

Well,
It's been a busy month for us at the retreat center. We've been all over the place the past few weeks. Leslie worked at The Spirits of Light Psychic Fair last weekend and this Friday we gave a Reiki talk at the St. Matthew's Rainbow Blossom.

Today we had our latest installment of the summer workshop series Communicating with Faeries, Devas & Nature Spirits. The weather this week has been great, but today was particularly lovely for working outdoors. Our focus this month was talking with tree spirits and introducing the mystical people popularly called elves, but also known as the sidhe or fair folk. It was a great workshop and both the participants and we the facilitators had wonderful experiences with touching the other side of the veil. We love what we do here at Compassion Retreat Center and more people are beginning to know about it, and that has been the most exciting part of this summer. We hope to see you all at our next workshop.

A new link is born

Leslie and her business partner Lori have worked very hard to make merlinite the magician's stone available to the public. They are the supply line for this very rare and powerful magical stone, and they finally have a website. So it is with great pleasure that I add them to our list of links on The Haven's official website.

Ordination Extradonaire

Greetings Everybody,
I am pleased to announce that this past Saturday I was ordained in the Order of Melchizedek. This has been a long time goal fulfilled to link with the energies that founded the Brotherhood of the White Light and the Essene School of Prophets. The day was filled with history, background, and a very heartfelt ordination ceremony.

Saturday"s Workshop

Well the weather was perfect for our weekend workshop. It was an indoor workshop this time round. LOL! We learned to sense the spirits of stones, and to receive messages. We explored a bit about stone alchemical grids (one of my specialty areas) and had ample sharing time. As always we ran out of time before we did everything we wanted to do. Next workshop is the third Saturday in August. Hope to see some of you there.

Creative midwifery

Greetings everyone,
Leslie is enjoying the increasing number of writers and budding authors who come to her for creative midwifery. This last week one new student practiced embodied writing, walking the labyrinth and taking a nature walk before sitting down to generate a new chapter for the draft of her memoir.
Two other writers are now working with Leslie as they clarify their vision in later drafts. Leslie is excited to welcome new writers. She has also just finished her own memoir Love is Thread, Life is the Garment. Look for it soon.

In fact she just completed a custom wire wrap for me. She will be periodically changing her featured work so check back often.

Heart of Wellness Celebration Recap

Thanks for everyone who came out and supported us at the 1st annual Heart of Wellness Celebration. We had a great time. We got to practice looking at auras in the playshops, and give energetic healing sessions & readings. The food was excellent and ::gasp:: healthy. We're already discussing expanding this event for next year. Right now we're preparing for our July edition of Faery and Devas workshop. It will be the 3rd Saturday the 19th from 1 - 3 PM. Bring your favorite stones and we'll help you learn to receive messages from them.
